We Are in the End Times — But Not the Way You Think

Many people hear the phrase “end times” and immediately imagine disasters, destruction, or apocalyptic chaos. But the truth revealed in Scripture tells a very different — and far more important — story.

God’s Plan: From Beginning to End

The Bible isn’t just a collection of ancient writings — it’s God’s complete revelation of His plan for humanity. From Genesis to Revelation, we are shown God’s consistent, loving purpose for His creation. And here’s the good news:

We don’t need to fear the end times — because we know the One who holds the future.

God is sovereign. He created the world, and He governs human history. Through Jesus Christ, He has revealed His ultimate plan for salvation, and He has invited each of us to be part of it.

The End Times Began with Jesus

When Jesus came into the world, He ushered in a new covenant — the final covenant between God and mankind.

  • Jesus’ birth marked the beginning of this new relationship.
  • Pentecost — the day the Holy Spirit was poured out — completed the foundation of this new covenant.
  • From that moment forward, we have lived in the “end times” — the final era of God’s redemptive plan.

We are no longer waiting for the end times to begin. We are living in them now.

A 24/7 Connection with God

Through the Holy Spirit, every believer has a constant, unbroken connection with God the Father, Jesus Christ the Son, and the Holy Spirit Himself. This is the heart of the new covenant.

Those who accept Jesus as Lord and Savior are written in the Book of Life. But this covenant has an expiration date — it will end when Jesus returns.

What Happens When Jesus Returns?

Jesus explained this clearly in Matthew 25:31–46 in the parable of The Sheep and the Goats. When He returns, He will judge the nations and separate the people:

“He will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.”
— Matthew 25:32

  • The sheep — those who lived out their faith with compassion and love — will be welcomed into eternal life.
  • The goats — those who ignored the needs of others and rejected God’s way — will face eternal separation from God.
